Congratulations to Allison Anderson – our Company Director's Course scholarship recipient. Thanks to support from the Tasmanian Government, we were able to offer a sponsored place in the Australian Institute of Company Directors' (AICD) Company Director's Course to be held in Hobart in October this year. Allison is an incredibly worthy recipient.
Allison holds a Bachelor of Science (with honours) – Geography, Master of Applied Science – Urban and Regional Planning and a PhD – Urban Design and Tourism; has lectured at two Australian universities, owned a number of research businesses throughout her career; sat on a variety of committees and has published numerous research papers and recently a book!
Her list of accolades is long. Yet somehow, amongst her accomplished career, Allison has made time to build her family – being a mother of four!
We know that Allison will seize this opportunity, using it to continue contributing considerable to the strategic direction of tourism in Tasmania. And, at the same time, be an amazing role model for women in the industry by supporting a diverse and inclusive culture that encourages women to strive for senior roles and board positions.
