Raising funds to support migrant women aspiring to work in hospitality access relevant training
For International Women's Day 2024, WITH Tas successfully collaborated with the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) Tasmania to host a dinner designed to introduce and connect industry leaders with MRC staff and clients. (Read more about the outcomes from this event here.)
Catering was provided by Iraqui Cuisine, run by migrant Nagham Al-knani and her daughters. Nagham also spoke of her migrant journey, its challenges and how crucial support can be on many levels. Her stories inspired our committee to look for a practical way to assist migrant women.
Working again in collaboration with the MRC, WITH Tas will assist with funding, connections and mentoring wherever possible to welcome more migrant women into our industry, whether as employees or small business owners themselves.
Drawn at the WITH Tas Christmas Function on 28 November, 2024 (keep an eye on archive.withtas.com/events for details).

The vodka is double-distilled and unfiltered then only the best 10% of each distillate is taken. It's a long production process for 150 bottles but that's what gives it the complex character, beautiful creaminess and sweet finish that sets it apart from anything else around. Whey better in fact!
8th PRIZE: The Embezzler Gin from Old Kempton Distillery
Dysart House, a historic coaching inn in Kempton, is home to the Old Kempton Distillery with its whisky created and stored in The Old Stables along with handcrafted gin and liqueurs.
The Embezzler Gin is named after convict embezzler turned innkeeper, William Ellis, who built Dysart House. It balances the traditional juniper forward elements of a London dry with Australian citrus, camomile, and lemon myrtle, producing an elegant gin delicious as a Martini or with a mixer.
