Women in Tourism Tasmania (WITT) was launched in September 2009 and founded to provide support, mentoring and networking opportunities for all women in the tourism & hospitality industry in Tasmania.
In 2010 a northern branch was formed, headed by Karen Phillips, Kim Jeffery and Kathy McConnell.
In February 2014 the Constitution was changed to include the closely allied hospitality industry and we became Women in Tourism & Hospitality Tasmania (WITH Tas).
Throughout the year WITH Tas hosts events designed to inspire, motivate and inform as well as provide an informal way for new women in our industries to meet and connect with others. For those already working in tourism, it's the chance to mingle and catch up on what others are doing. It's connecting to share experiences, contacts and to connect with expertise in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Annually WITH Tas offers a scholarship to a student undertaking tourism/hospitality studies and we are proud of the young women who have gone on to develop their careers further.
We have also supported various charities and causes over the the last 13 years.
