WITT is about:-
- W Women supporting their colleagues.
- I Independently offering opportunities to youth and future generations.
- T Taking time to mentor and educate.
- T To expand the tourism and hospitality industries.
It has been an exciting and eventful year and watching the organization expand has been very rewarding.
Our first function was hosted at Catch Restaurant; we were honored by the talented and humorous speaker Robyn Moore from The Power of the Word, to get us off to a great start!
We continued on our bi-monthly functions at The Old Woolstore for the festive Christmas function in November. The highly accredited POWERtalk International President, Margaret Sutherland, who kindly donated her time to inspire us all.
The third function, Networking with a Difference, was hosted by Customs House.
Our May Function, a successful Industry tradeshow, was at Brookfield Vineyard’s, hosted by Helen Lindsay and her team. Experience Tasmania provided a luxury coach travel for members to travel to Margate.
A members only evening was held in June at endota spa – a fun night of pampering – WITT will hold these members’ functions annually.
In July, WITT participated at the Tasmanian Tourism Conference Trade Expo and we were overwhelmed by the response!
The breakfast function held in July at Grand Mecure Hadleys was delicious! Mischief Business Engineering Pty Ltd Director, Terri Simpkin enlightened our early morning start with an inspiring talk on mentoring.
On behalf of WITT and the WITT Committee, I would sincerely like to thank our sponsors who have helped from the beginning and have been extremely generous, thank you. Also thank you to those who have donated prizes for our events and to the venues who willing hosted our functions.
I am pleased to say we were able to present a cheque for $1292.05 to Breast Cancer Network Australia, Tasmanian Branch from funds raised throughout the year with the support of members and guests from our functions.
For as little as $75.00 for a yearly membership you can be involved in a growing organization, by meeting and making new friends.
I look forward to our continued success and growth and, being able to assist all women associated with Tourism.
Yours in WITT,
Sally Deane, President
